Job summary

Roberts Automatic Products in Minnesota seeks a Machine Operator for a Multi Spindle Screw Machine. responsibilities include loading stock, starting machines, monitoring operation, and ensuring parts meet specifications.

You will work 1st shift, 5:00am-3:00pm, Monday-Thursday, with emphasis on quality and safety; experience on Davenport/Acme/Gildemesiter/Euroturn/New Britney machines is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience with single or multiple spindle screw machines.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted.
• Strong problem-solving and basic math skills.
• Familiarity with ISO-9002 quality systems is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Recognize nonconforming products and shut down production when defects are found.
• Maintain and control the Roberts ISO-9002:1994 Quality System as required.
• Operate single/multi-spindle screw machines with automatic indexing and feeding mechanisms.
• Load stock into feeding mechanism or hand-load parts and verify conformance to specifications.
• Start machines, engage feeds, monitor operation, and inspect sample parts with gauges and calipers.

JOB TITLE:

Machine Operator-Multi Spindle Screw Machine

SHIFTS:

1st Shift, Monday-Thursday: 5:00am-3:00pm

JOB DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Recognition of nonconforming products and services, and the responsibility to shut down production processes when defective parts/material are found.

Effect any change(s) necessary to control and maintain the Roberts ISO-9002:1994 Quality System.

Tends single or multiple spindle screw machines equipped with automatic indexing and feeding mechanisms that drill, turn, bore, thread, tap, and face metal bar stock according to specifications: Loads bar stock into feeding mechanism or hand loads individual machine parts.

Starts machine, engages feeds, and observes machine operation.

Removes sample workpiece from machine and inspects workpiece to verify conformance to specifications, using instruments, such as preset comparator, ring and screw pinch gauges, calipers, and micrometer.

Moves controls to adjust machine operation. Use statistical process control techniques.

Must be safety conscious and oriented and responsible for good house-keeping and policing area.
