Swagelok, a global leader in fluid system solutions, seeks a Level III Machine Operator in Solon, Ohio. You will join a manufacturing team producing high‑quality components for diverse industries, emphasizing safety, precision, and continuous improvement.

This role offers 3rd shift (10:00 pm–6:15 am) with a pay range of $24.50–$34.30 per hour plus overtime and a 10% shift differential, plus a $3,000 sign‑on after 30 days. Comprehensive training and career development are provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 30 months of machining/manufacturing experience.
• Experience with set-up, blueprint reading, and basic programming.
• Ability to troubleshoot machining equipment.

Responsibilities

• Participate in daily shift start‑up meetings and follow the Swagelok Production System.
• Operate and changeover manufacturing equipment according to standard work instructions and production schedules.
• Inspect finished parts using precision measuring equipment.
• Monitor machine outputs and adjust tooling, fixtures, and settings to maintain quality and efficiency.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve machining, tooling, and process issues independently.
• Complete preventative maintenance and routine machine care.
• Document production activities accurately and maintain manufacturing records.
• Suggest process improvements that enhance quality, efficiency, or safety.

Position Summary

As a Level III Machine Operator, you will be a key member of our manufacturing team, producing fluid‑system components that meet the highest quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Participate in daily shift start‑up meetings and follow the Swagelok Production System.
• Operate and changeover manufacturing equipment according to standard work instructions and production schedules.
• Inspect finished parts using precision measuring equipment (micrometers, calipers, comparators, ring gauges, dial indicators, smart gauges, etc.).
• Monitor machine outputs and adjust tooling, fixtures, and settings to maintain quality and efficiency.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve machining, tooling, and process issues independently.
• Complete preventative maintenance and routine machine care.
• Recognize equipment malfunctions and coordinate or escalated repairs as needed.
• Document production activities accurately and maintain manufacturing records.
• Suggest process improvements that enhance quality, efficiency, or safety.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while following all safety procedures.
• Train and mentor less experienced operators.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 30 months of machining or manufacturing experience (or current qualification as a Swagelok Level II Machine Operator).
• Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, and metal‑cutting equipment, including

• Experience with machine set‑up, blueprint reading, and basic programming.
• Troubleshooting machining equipment.
• Knowledge of tooling in machining with the ability to use form tools, shave tools, drills, reamers, thread rolling, cams, gears, and more.

• Experience using precision measuring instruments and quality inspection tools.
• Mechanical aptitude with the ability to independently diagnose and resolve machining issues.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to learn new processes and focus on continuous improvement.
• Willingness to work overtime hours as needed.

Physical Requirements

• Standing and walking for extended periods.
• Frequent bending, reaching, and stooping.
• Lifting materials weighing 25–35 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Working safely around manufacturing equipment.
• Passing required vision acuity testing, where applicable.
