Job summary

Swagelok is seeking a Level III Machine Operator in Solon, Ohio, to join our manufacturing team. You will produce fluid-system components, troubleshoot, and perform machine changeovers with a strong focus on safety, quality, and productivity in a temperature-controlled facility.

You’ll work 3rd shift (Mon-Fri, 10:45 pm–7:00 am) and use precision measuring tools and standard work instructions. A High school diploma and 30+ months of machining experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• 30+ months machining or manufacturing experience (or Swagelok Level II qualification).
• Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, and metal cutting equipment.
• Experience with machine setup, blueprint reading, and basic programming.
• Ability to troubleshoot machining equipment and diagnose issues independently.

Responsibilities

• Follow SPS, participate in daily shift start-up, and provide shift handoff reports.
• Operate and changeover manufacturing equipment per standard work instructions.
• Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools to ensure quality.
• Monitor outputs, adjust tooling and machine settings to maintain quality and efficiency.
• Identify and resolve machining, tooling, and process issues; perform preventative maintenance.
• Document production activities and maintain manufacturing records.
• Suggest process improvements to enhance quality, efficiency, or safety.
• Train and mentor less experienced operators.

Pay & Total Rewards

The pay range for this position is $24.50‑$34.30 per hour, along with additional compensation through overtime and 10% shift differential when working an off‑shift. If you’re offered a position with Swagelok, the hourly rate offered will be determined by your skills, experience, and additional qualifications needed for the role.

This position comes with a $3,000 sign on bonus, which is payable after your first 30 days worked. You must be actively employed with us at the time of payout to receive the sign on bonus. Sign‑on bonus payments are subject to any legally required or elected withholdings, and applicable federal, state, and local taxes.

Position Summary

As a Level III Machine Operator, you'll be a key member of our manufacturing team, producing fluid‑system components that meet the highest quality standards. This role is ideal for an experienced machinist with proven ability working independently, troubleshooting equipment and processes, and performing machine changeovers while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and productivity.

You’ll have the opportunity to use your expertise every day while continuously expanding your technical knowledge with exposure and experience working on a variety of machines in a clean, safe, modern, temperature‑controlled manufacturing environment. You’ll be provided all the tools and gauges necessary to be successful in your role. What You’ll Do

• Follow Swagelok’s production system (SPS) such as participating in a daily shift start‑up meeting with your team. You’ll give or receive a shift handoff report that sets the incoming or outgoing shifts up for success.
• Operate and changeover manufacturing equipment according to standard work instructions and production schedules.
• Follow quality plans according to specs. Inspecting finished parts using precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, comparators, ring gauges, dial indicators, smart gauges, and other inspection tools.
• Monitor machine outputs for quality, adjust tooling, fixtures, and machine settings as needed to maintain quality and efficiency.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve machining, tooling, and process issues independently.
• Complete preventative maintenance and routine machine care.
• Recognize equipment malfunctions and coordinate or elevate repairs when needed.
• Document production activities accurately and maintain manufacturing records.
• Suggest process improvements that enhance quality, efficiency, or safety.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while following all safety procedures.
• Train and mentor less experienced operators

What Makes You Successful

Successful candidates will have:

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 30 months of machining or manufacturing experience (or current qualification as a Swagelok Level II Machine Operator).
• Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, and metal cutting equipment including:
• Experience with machine set up, blueprint reading, and basic programming
• Troubleshooting machining equipment
• Knowledge of tooling in machining with ability to use form tools, shave tools, drills, reamers, thread rolling, cams, gears, and more
• Experience using precision measuring instruments and quality inspection tools.
• Mechanical aptitude with the ability to independently diagnose and resolve machining issues.

Physical Requirements

• Standing and walking for extended periods.

• Passing required vision acuity testing, where applicable.
