Job Summary

The Lead Machine Operator is responsible for operating automated or non-automated web or sheet-fed screen printing equipment and providing guidance to other shift employees.

Role & Responsibilities

• Operate and oversee printing equipment, ensuring quality and efficiency.
• Supervise a small print line staff, especially during the second shift.
• Maintain high standards of quality and meet production schedules to ensure customer satisfaction and profitability.
• Assist the first shift supervisor in monitoring printing operations, reviewing reports, and coordinating workflow.
• Identify and troubleshoot machine issues, working with maintenance to resolve problems.
• Manufacture materials according to customer specifications.
• Assist in planning and determining manpower needs based on forecasts and schedules.
• Support company quality policies and safety rules.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Production Supervisor.

Time Allocation

Following guidelines to run production orders (55%), machine adjustments for quality (20%), troubleshooting (10%), guiding team members (10%), and supporting company culture (5%).

Must be able to perform essential duties, with accommodations available for disabilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to learn and operate multiple machines, with mechanical aptitude.
• Reliable attendance and ability to follow instructions.
• Strong communication skills, fluent in English.
