Job summary

NIC Global is seeking a night‑shift CNC laser operator in Gallatin, TN to run the laser line and related equipment. This position includes programming at the console, measuring cut parts, and maintaining the machine to ensure quality output.

You will collaborate with teammates to hit production targets while complying with safety standards and OSHA rules; the shift offers a $2.00 per hour premium and a 4:40 pm to 3:10 am schedule (Mon–Thu).

Qualifications

• Six months or more of related experience or training.
• Ability to program, download and edit at computer console as required.
• Ability to verify measurements of cut materials using measurement tools.
• Mechanical aptitude required.
• Good communication, organizational and cross-training skills.
• Ability to distinguish material types including Aluminum, Steel, Stainless Steel, Copper and Brass.

Job description

This is a night shift position, which includes a $2.00 per hour shift premium.

Shift: 4:40 pm to 3:10 am (Monday through Thursday)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES

• Operates the CNC laser cutting machine and other machinery used in the production process.
• Has an understanding of laser machine operation, differences between cutting various alloy, and gauge of material.
• Performs regular maintenance, including housekeeping on the machine.
• Programs, downloads and edits console as required. Verifies the measurement of cut materials.
• Works with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency.
• Works in a fast-paced environment with fast changing priorities.
• Uses handheld power tools to grind, sand and cut materials.
• Follows all safety rules and quality standards.
• Follows all company rules and policies.
• Upholds OSHA standards applicable to the responsibilities above.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Ability to lift 50lbs with or without accommodations.

Stand on concrete floor for 10 hours (with breaks) and with anti-fatigue mats.

No facial hair that would prevent proper seal of respiratory protection.
