Job summary

SendCutSend is an on-demand manufacturer specializing in custom sheet metal and CNC machining. A CNC Machine Operator will set up, operate, and monitor CNC fiber lasers to produce precision-cut parts and inspect outputs on a busy shop floor.

You will read 2D/3D drawings, verify programs and tooling, perform routine maintenance, and collaborate with team leads to meet daily production goals while maintaining safe, clean work practices.

Responsibilities

• Perform machine startup, shutdown, and daily maintenance.
• Install and set up punches, dies, and job tooling as required.
• Read and interpret 2D and 3D drawings for proper laser setup.
• Measure parts to ensure dimensions meet customer specs.
• Collaborate with team leads to meet production goals and address issues.
• Maintain a clean, LEAN and 5S-aligned work area.
• Assist with inventory of tooling such as punches and dies.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

What You’ll Do

• Set up, operate, and monitor CNC fiber lasers
• Load material and unload finished parts from machines
• Verify correct programs, tooling, and material prior to running jobs
• Perform machine startup, shutdown, and routine daily maintenance
• Install and set up punches, dies, and job tooling as required
• Read and interpret 2D and 3D drawings for proper laser and brake setup
• Measure parts using gauges and inspection tools to verify angles, dimensions, and overall accuracy meet customer specifications
• Collaborate with team leads and supervisors to meet daily production goals and communicate issues or quality concerns as they arise
• Maintain a clean, organized work area in alignment with LEAN and 5S principles
• Assist with inventory of tooling such as punches and dies
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
• Basic knowledge of CNC systems and machine controls
• Ability to read production drawings and flat patterns
• Ability to use measuring devices and basic hand tools
• Strong attention to detail and quality
• Ability to follow work instructions and safety procedures
• Commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience operating CNC fiber lasers
• Experience with Amada equipment
• Forklift experience
• Prior work in a sheet metal or fabrication environment

Physical Requirements

• Ability to repeatedly lift 25 lbs and lift up to 50 lbs
• Ability to stand and walk for 10 to 12 hour shifts
• Ability to bend, reach, and work around large industrial equipment

Work Environment

• Manufacturing and production floor environment
• Work performed around CNC lasers, press brakes, and material handling equipment
• Exposure to noise, moving machinery, and metal materials
• Use of required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
• This position requires working in close proximity to equipment that generates strong electromagnetic fields (EMF). This environment may pose a risk to individuals with cardiac pacemakers, ICDs, or other implantable medical devices.
