Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age and have a HS Diploma or equivalent.
- Must have reading, writing, and simple math skills.
- Must be able to read blueprints.
- Previous experience as a Machine Operator I within Stainless Steel.
- Welding experience, with knowledge of TIG welding demonstrated by passing a hands-on competency test; vocational school knowledge is helpful.
Duties
- Operate complex machinery used in production, including reading prints, adjusting, and TIG welding stainless steel shells and components.
- Perform semi-complex machine set-ups; load welder with component parts.
- Ensure machines operate at required capacity to meet production goals.
- Monitor equipment performance, troubleshoot, and resolve issues to maintain efficiency.
- Verify accuracy of machine settings and detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance production; monitor controls (temperature, cycle time, amps-volts).
- Recognize process upsets and notify appropriate personnel.
- Assist in preparing performance scorecards and Gemba Boards for problem resolution.
- Support maintenance with basic troubleshooting and diagnostics.
- Maintain equipment and perform preventive maintenance; notify maintenance if malfunctions occur.
- Inspect welds visually to ensure compliance with blueprints, codes, and quality standards.
- Support training and development of peers.
- Perform assembly, packaging, housekeeping, and other duties as assigned.
