Machine Operator II Stainless Weld, 3rd Shift

Qualifications
  • Must be 18 years of age and have a HS Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have reading, writing, and simple math skills.
  • Must be able to read blueprints.
  • Previous experience as a Machine Operator I within Stainless Steel.
  • Welding experience, with knowledge of TIG welding demonstrated by passing a hands-on competency test; vocational school knowledge is helpful.
Duties
  • Operate complex machinery used in production, including reading prints, adjusting, and TIG welding stainless steel shells and components.
  • Perform semi-complex machine set-ups; load welder with component parts.
  • Ensure machines operate at required capacity to meet production goals.
  • Monitor equipment performance, troubleshoot, and resolve issues to maintain efficiency.
  • Verify accuracy of machine settings and detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance production; monitor controls (temperature, cycle time, amps-volts).
  • Recognize process upsets and notify appropriate personnel.
  • Assist in preparing performance scorecards and Gemba Boards for problem resolution.
  • Support maintenance with basic troubleshooting and diagnostics.
  • Maintain equipment and perform preventive maintenance; notify maintenance if malfunctions occur.
  • Inspect welds visually to ensure compliance with blueprints, codes, and quality standards.
  • Support training and development of peers.
  • Perform assembly, packaging, housekeeping, and other duties as assigned.
