Job description

QUALIFICATIONS

Must be 18 years of age and have a High School Diploma or equivalent. Must possess reading, writing, and basic math skills. Ability to read blueprints is required. Previous experience as a Machine Operator I in Stainless Steel is necessary. Welding experience, particularly TIG welding, demonstrated through a hands-on competency test, is essential. Vocational school training in welding is a plus.

DUTIES
  • Operate complex machinery used in production, including reading prints, adjusting, and TIG welding stainless steel shells and components.
  • Perform semi-complex machine setups; load welders with components to be welded.
  • Ensure machinery operates at required capacity to meet production goals.
  • Monitor equipment performance, troubleshoot, and resolve issues to maintain efficiency.
  • Verify machine settings and detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance conditions; monitor controls such as temperature, cycle time, amps, and volts.
  • Identify process upsets and notify relevant personnel.
  • Assist in preparing and maintaining performance scorecards and Gemba Boards for problem resolution.
  • Support maintenance with basic troubleshooting and diagnostics.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and notify maintenance personnel of malfunctions.
  • Inspect welds visually to ensure compliance with blueprints, codes, and quality standards.
  • Support training and development of peers.
  • Perform additional duties such as assembly, packaging, housekeeping, as assigned by supervisors.
