Job summary

Amcor LLC is seeking a Production Operator to operate and maintain molding equipment for PET containers. You will perform set-ups, preventive maintenance, and changeovers, while following safety rules and using PPE. The role involves quality inspections, data recording, and coordinating with maintenance and QA teams.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 1–3 months related experience or training, or equivalent combination.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules and maintenance instructions.
  • Ability to work independently, make decisions and resolve conflicts.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability.
  • Forklift experience and certification, or willingness to become certified.

Responsibilities

  • Relieves maintenance technician during breaks and maintains GMP housekeeping.

Job description

Job Responsibilities

Operates and maintains associated machinery required to support the molding process to produce and audit PET plastic containers. Supports downstream processes. Performs process set‑up, preventative maintenance and changeovers.

Follows all established safety rules and guidelines. Understands and communicates all hazards and safety issues to co‑workers and managers/supervisors. Properly uses all personal protective equipment.

Maintains standard production objectives through proper machine operation and accurately records production. Knows and practices safe and proper start‑up and shut‑down procedures for each machine. Helps develop work instructions and levels training programs for next generation operators.

Operates one‑step machinery including laser dating systems, leak detection systems, using written work instructions, visual management, and computer interface.

Conducts quality inspections using specific written and visual guidelines. Monitors operations of one‑step machines and all downstream equipment to detect machine malfunctions. Inspects product for quality defects. Has authority to stop machines and production to report malfunctions to the maintenance technician, quality technician, and/or supervisor.

Performs minor adjustments to the machines to correct improper functions. Performs preventive maintenance and change overs on machines. Scans and consumes production tickets using computer interface. Accurately completes all logs, data input and written, to include quality checks and downtime. Removes any damaged material from machine.

Assembles packaging to be used for storage and transport of finished product. Operates pallet jack and forklift to move finished product from machine to the staging area. Effectively communicates with all internal departments.

Relieves maintenance technician during breaks. Performs and maintains housekeeping of all assigned areas. This includes applying Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to meet plant goals. Performs other job duties as assigned.
