Job summary

GOJO Industries, LLC is seeking a Machine Operator II for the 3rd shift at the Wooster, OH campus. You will operate, set up, and monitor assembly machines, ensuring adherence to SOPs and safety guidelines, with emphasis on minimizing downtime and optimizing yields.

Role requires ability to read control panels, perform basic troubleshooting and logkeeping, and possibly train others. This is a 100% onsite position with travel between campus locations in Northeast Ohio as needed.

Qualifications

  • Ability to read and implement SOPs and WIS.
  • Mechanical experience with manufacturing equipment.
  • Experience training others on the job.

Responsibilities

  • Operates machinery according to specifications to maximize production yields and minimize downtime.
  • Performs setup, machine operation, maintenance and changeover procedures on assembly machines.
  • Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) certified and follows procedures.
  • Maintains machine log books and records for audits as required.
  • Monitors machine control panels and responds to faults; reports abnormalities.
  • Troubleshoots malfunctions and makes minor adjustments per instructions.
  • Follows cGMP, safety and housekeeping; may train others.
  • Verifies components prior to use and reports discrepancies.
  • Performs CNS tasks and other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
  • Operate, set-up and run Drum-Tote Filler.

Role Type: 100% Onsite

Role Objective

Incumbents of this role tend to automatic or semi-automatic machines in a continuous production/processing operation, following production/process specifications or instructions as documented and directed. Incumbents monitor meters, gauges, and related controls and guidelines to ensure adherence to production/process specifications, while performing all work in accordance with established safety and quality procedures.

Essential Functions And Responsibilities
  • Operates machinery according to specifications to maximize production yields and minimize down time.
  • Performs set up, machine operation, maintenance and change over procedures on assembly machines within the parameters referenced.
  • Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) Certified; demonstrates Lockout/Tagout procedures are met per company standards.
  • Maintains operating records as required. Includes maintaining machine log books and other company records for auditing purposes according to relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions (WIS).
  • Starts and stops machines, and complies with emergency E-stops, and Lockout/Tagout procedures.
  • Reads machine control panels and touch screens; monitors digital communication equipment. Know, identify and correct system errors and faults.
  • Troubleshoots any malfunctions and report abnormalities to the Production Leader/Supervisor. Makes minor adjustments and repairs to equipment within written work instructions.
  • Adheres to Standard Operating Procedures, current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), safety, and housekeeping requirements; may train others as assigned.
  • Verifies components prior to use, and reporting any discrepancies to the Production Leader/Supervisor.
  • Perform inventory control tasks within component staging areas.
  • Have a high sense of urgency and ability to take action when needed.
  • Executes required Cleaning & Sanitization (CNS) tasks if applicable, and other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
  • Operate, set-up and run Drum-Tote Filler.
Education and Experience

Requires high ability to read, understand and implement the many required Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions (WIS).

Proficiency will be obtained through on-the-job training. Requires previous mechanical experience with manufacturing equipment. Knowledge of troubleshooting equipment and ability to use this equipment. Experience with training others through on-the-job training.

High school diploma or graduate equivalent examination completed.
