Job summary

NEOTech is seeking a Soldering Technician on the 2nd shift to operate a wave solder machine, following engineering profiles and IPC quality standards. You will perform start-up/shut-down, run programs, and maintain documentation while ensuring MSD/ESD controls and 6S adherence.

A team-oriented, detail-focused candidate will thrive in this role. Qualified applicants typically hold a high school diploma or GED and have experience with IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 modules; U.S.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED; ISO/AS9100 experience is a plus.
  • Proficient in Windows OS and MS Office; ERP system experience.
  • Operate machines per manufacturer guidelines; IPC modules knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Start the equipment, verify program/profile per company docs and run soldering processes.
  • Perform daily/weekly maintenance and log results.
  • Follow manufacturing instructions and start/stop safety procedures.
  • Review board output to ensure IPC-A-610 compliance and MSD/ESD handling.
  • Adhere to 6S objectives and complete additional duties as assigned.

Job description

Summary

Soldering of PCB assemblies on the wave solder machine utilizing controlled programs and/or profiles specified by engineering. Ability to perform all start-up and shut down routines required as documented on the manufacturers or company procedures.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Ability to start the equipment, verify the correct program or profile name outlined in Company documentation and run equipment to solder PCB assemblies.

Ability to perform daily and weekly Preventative Maintenance, entering results into a maintenance log.

Follow up on Manufacturing Process Instructions.

Follow start-up (as well as shut-down) and safety procedures to operate machines.

Review board output to assure product meets IPC-A-610 Standards.

Adhere to all ESD requirements and Board Handling

Use of Moisture Sensitive Device (MSD) handling requirements based on the components’ Moisture Sensitive Levels (MSL).

Comply with all in-house training as identified in job specific family and or specific training plan

Support all corporate and site 6S objectives

Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Job Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Abilities:
  • Knowledge of IPC-DVD-64C Component Identification.
  • Obtain operation specifications through Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
  • Knowledge of machine maintenance per manufacturer’s guidelines.
  • Ability to work on multiple procedures / products.
  • Highly repetitive or routine duties.
  • Normally follows established procedures on routine work.
  • Works under moderate supervision.
  • Pass IPC-A-610 Modules 1-8 and J-STD-001 Module 1 and 6 as needed.
  • Ability to support a minimum of 2 customer products while maintaining quality and

production standard requirements.

  • Ability to work on multiple tasks using a wide range of procedures with a minimum low
  • level complexity.
  • Ability to follow established procedures on routine work.
  • Typically requires little to no experience.
Experience/Education
  • High School Diploma /GED or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Experienced using Windows operating systems including Microsoft Office products.
  • Experience working for an ISO9000n or AS9100 accredited organization is a plus.
