Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking a Machine Operator in Florence, Alabama. The role involves setting up and operating heavy machinery to perform cutting, punching, forming, and related processing} tasks while ensuring safety and quality standards are met.

The position requires the ability to interpret blueprints, operate automated controls, and use precision measurement tools. Training and certification for forklift and overhead crane are part of the requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be able to become certified to operate a forklift vehicle and overhead crane.
• Experience with handheld metalworking tools is a plus.
• Understanding of lean manufacturing principles is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety rules and participate in a culture of safety.
• Follow quality and customer standards.
• Set up and operate machinery to cut, punch, form, paint, and/or package parts.
• Operate computerized equipment and machine controls.
• Use quality measurement devices such as tape measure, calipers, and micrometers.
• Operate material handling equipment such as overhead crane, forklift, or combi lift.
• Perform preventive maintenance, adjustments, and lubrication.
• Mark parts with numbers and attach identification tags.
• Interpret blueprints and specifications to select materials.
• Maintain continuous improvement in the work area.
• May be assigned other projects by Team Leader.
