Job summary

Tosoh Quartz is seeking an entry-level manufacturing technician to support equipment setup, operation, and daily maintenance in our Portland, OR facility. You will read technical drawings, follow work instructions, and ensure proper fixturing and product handling throughout the manufacturing process.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of manufacturing experience.
• Ability to follow work instructions accurately.
• Strong attention to detail and visual acuity.
• Able to read technical drawings and fixtures.
• Willing to learn product handling, cleaning, inspection tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the set-up of manufacturing equipment.
• Set up and operate manufacturing equipment including saws, core drills, lap and polish machines, and grinders.
• Read and follow technical drawings and work instructions.
• Identify technical problems and work with supervisor to identify a solution.
• Assist with minor adjustments to manufacturing equipment.
• Maintain equipment through daily/weekly maintenance.
• Prepare product for manufacturing: visual inspection and proper fixturing.
• Complete work traveler transactions.
• Product movement and handling.
• Daily housekeeping, organizing, and cleaning of work area.

Who you are

Minimum requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of manufacturing experience.
• Able to accurately follow work instructions.
• Able to identify task requirements, monitor progress and meet project completion deadlines.
• Excellent visual acuity; able to see small details and finish variations and defects.
• Ability to learn and retain new skills:
• Product handling, cleaning, inspection, and packaging
• Wax, dewax, and product staging procedures
