Job summary

Tosoh Quartz is seeking a CNC Operator II in Portland, OR to set up and run vertical and horizontal CNC mills, inspect parts, and ensure quality according to blueprints and procedures. The role requires attention to detail, precision measurement skills, and the ability to read detailed work instructions.

You will work with calipers, micrometers and other inspection tools, maintain equipment, and contribute to a safe and organized production area. Great benefits accompany this position.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years operating CNC machines in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience reading and following detailed work instructions.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints.
• Experience using precision measurement equipment.
• Knowledge of Machine Mathematics.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate production machining equipment including vertical and horizontal CNC mills.
• Inspect finished products for quality and adherence to customer specifications.
• Produce and detail various-sized quartz (glass) parts to conform to specifications.
• Work in accordance with process procedures, work order instructions, drawings and other production documents.
• Verify part or process conformance to specification; calibrate or adjust equipment to ensure quality production with approved inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, pin gauges and comparators.
• Perform detail work such as waxing, dewaxing, chamfering, or other cleaning and cosmetic inspection.
• Maintain equipment and perform daily and monthly machine maintenance.
• Maintain a safe, organized and clean work area.
• Monitor and adjust production processes or equipment for quality and productivity.

As the CNC Operator II you will set up and operate CNC machines, inspect products to ensure quality, and maintain equipment.

What you’ll do at Tosoh Quartz.

• Set up and operate production machining equipment including vertical and horizontal CNC mills.
• Inspect finished products for quality and adherence to customer specifications.

• Maintain equipment. Detect and correct minor machine malfunctions and perform daily and monthly machine maintenance as directed.
• Maintain a safe, organized and clean work area.
• Monitor and adjust production processes or equipment for quality and productivity.

Who you are.

Minimum requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3 + year operating CNC machines in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience reading and following detailed work instructions.
• Strong attention to detail. Ability to see small details, finish variations, and defects.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints.
• Experience using precision measurement equipment.
• Knowledge of Machine Mathematics.
