Job summary

Tosoh Quartz Inc in Portland, OR seeks a Manufacturing Technician to assist in the manufacture of quartz components. You will cut glass, perform in-process inspections, and follow detailed procedures and drawings.

The role requires lifting up to 60 lbs (120 lbs with help), learning blueprints and precision measurement tools, and strict PPE usage. The shift runs 4:00 am–12:30 pm with safety as a priority.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to accurately follow instructions.
• Able to lift and extend up to 60 lbs independently (or 120 lbs with assistance).
• Aptitude for learning; blueprints, machine mathematics and precision measurement equipment.
• Able to wear required safety gear during shift (goggles, aprons, boots, gloves, respirator).

Responsibilities

• Cut glass to required lengths, bevels, slots or features; etch and rinse between steps.
• Produce and inspect in-process products for quality per specs.
• Follow process procedures, work orders, drawings and production docs.
• Perform detail work (waxing, dewaxing, chamfering, acid wash, etc.).
• Maintain equipment and detect/correct minor machine malfunctions.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and clean work area; wear PPE properly.

With over 300 dedicated employees and a reputation for excellence, we offer a dynamic environment focused on developing new products, fostering professional growth, and shaping the future of technology.As a Manufacturing Technician, you will assist in the manufacture of quartz components using a variety of tools and equipment.Shift Schedule: 4:00 am – 12:30 pmWhat you’ll do at Tosoh Quartz.Cut glass to the required lengths, cut in bevels, slots or other features, etch off layers to perfect glass and rinse item in acid bath between all steps.Produce and inspect in process products for quality and adherence to customer specifications.Work in accordance with process procedures, work order instructions, drawings, and other production documents.Perform detail work, which may include waxing, dewaxing, chamfering, acid wash or other cleaning, cosmetic inspection of parts and other similar functions.Maintain equipment. Detect and correct minor machine malfunctions and perform daily and monthly machine maintenance as directed.Maintain a safe, organized, and clean work area.Wear and use all PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) properly and in accordance with manufacturer and OSHA regulations.Important note: This position works with chemicals (including acid) for up to 50% of the shift. All employees must strictly follow all safety protocols and wear required safety gear at when working with chemicals.Who you are.Minimum requirements:High school diploma or equivalent.Ability to accurately follow instructions.Able to lift and extend with arms outstretched, up to 60 lbs. independently. Or up to 120 lbs. with assistance.Aptitude for learning; blueprints, machine mathematics and precision measurement equipment.Able to wear all required, Company-provided safety gear during your shift.
