Job summary

TekniPlex in Decatur, IN is seeking a manufacturing associate to assist in production line activities, perform quality inspections, and help with setup and changeovers. The role requires reading safety rules and procedures, basic math for time cards, and adherence to food safety standards.

Candidates should be able to work 12-hour shifts on a 2-2-3 rotation (5:45am–6:00pm) and support a safe, efficient production environment in a facility following SQF/BRC/HACCP guidelines.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to print simple sentences and legibly complete reports and time cards.
• Ability to add and subtract up to three digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s.

Responsibilities

• Assists Production Tech with order processing, changes and set-up.
• Bags, boxes or palletizes finished product.
• Performs quality inspections and tests.
• Positions sheet rolls on unwind stand and starts sheet into formers and through the trim press.
• Assists in the production and operation of manufacturing process equipment.
• Prepares production logs, product tags and time cards as necessary.
• Operates scrap grinder as required and understands recycle system.
• Follows and participates in plant safe housekeeping guidelines designed to ensure a safe work environment.
• Remains compliant with SQF / BRC / HACCP requirements as per this location's written "Food Safety & Quality Policy".
• Other duties as assigned.

Previous experience in manufacturing a plus.

Mathematical Skills
Ability to add and subtract up to three digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situations.
