Machine Operator – 1st Shift

Hours 6:30 am – 3 pm, Monday through Friday.

• Read and understand work order/BOM or follow oral instructions to operate machinery and produce a part that meets all specifications.
• Load and unload material into frame of forming machine or trimming fixture.
• Push button or depress pedal to activate machines.
• Load and unload plastic parts into die cutter or CNC fixture for trimming.
• Observe machine operation to detect work piece defects or machine malfunctions.
• Remove burrs, sharp edges, or scrap from finished piece using tools such as air hoses, band saws, and trimmers.
• Inspect the quality of finished products and report any issues to the Setup Person or Shift Supervisor.
• Count and pack finished products into boxes for shipping or inventory.
• Input accurate daily production data into the computer shop floor data collection system.
• Communicate issues to the next shift Machine Operators and clean workstation at shift end.
• Perform all work procedures according to established Quality and Environmental Management Systems.
• Comply with company policies, safety, and environmental regulations.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED; or 1-3 months of related experience/training; or equivalent.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and manuals.
• Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division; ability to interpret bar graphs.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and solve problems involving standard variables.

Employees must occasionally lift and carry up to 50 lbs. and use a pallet jack for objects up to 60 lbs.
