Life Fitness in Owatonna, MN is hiring a production operator to support our metal fabrication and assembly processes. The role focuses on simple machine set-ups, operating presses and related equipment, and ensuring parts meet required tolerances.

You will perform inspections, maintain a clean workspace, complete documentation, and contribute to a safe manufacturing environment. Candidates should have mechanical aptitude, basic reading of measurements, and at least a year in production; HS

Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude and ability to read measurements.
• Ability to operate hand tools and precision measurement equipment.
• Preference for HS diploma or trade school in metal fabrication.
• Experience reading blueprints.
• One year of experience in a production environment.
• Strong safety awareness in manufacturing settings.

Job Purpose

Perform simple setups and operate equipment which may include but not limited to manual punch press, shears, saws, drill press, timesaver, wash and tumbler.

Qualifications and Skills

• Required mechanical aptitude.
• Understanding of safety.
• Ability to operate hand tools, gauges, torque wrenches and equipment necessary for production.
• Ability to read measurements.
• Preferred high school diploma or equivalent technical/trade school in metal fabrication.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• Knowledge and use of inspection equipment (calipers, gauges, protractors and tape measure).
• Working knowledge of metalworking.
• One year of experience in a production environment.

Working Conditions

Must be able to lift 35 lbs and occasionally lift 50 lbs with assistance. Will also involve repetitive motion. Work area can be noisy.
