Job description

POSITION OBJECTIVE:

Operates a hot melt machine to produce filter packs. Makes adjustments to the machine to ensure quality production.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Sets up the machine for automatic operation.
2. Selects the correct media and loads rolls onto the machine.
3. Adds hot melt to the machine and adjusts hot melt settings.
4. Reads a Z-drawing and shop packet to determine filter requirements.
5. Makes modifications to CNC programs.
6. Uses hand tools such as wrenches and screwdrivers to change rollers.
7. Uses a measuring tape to determine the correct size of the finished filter pack.
8. Inspects filter packs for damages or defects.
9. Places completed packs in frames.
10. May assist in filter assembly.
11. Rejects filter packs that do not meet quality standards.
12. Reads and interprets order numbers to ensure the correct type of filter pack is made.
13. Performs other duties as assigned by management.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Experience with using hand tools is required.
• Measuring skills to 1/16 inch are required.
• Ability to identify different types of media by comparing style numbers.
• Basic mechanical skills to remove and replace rollers.
