Responsible for all activities associated with running the Automatan including setup, operation, cleanup, and recommending improvements to operations. All employees will be committed to Occupational Safety and Health. You will be responsible for providing a safe and healthful working environment in your areas of responsibility and job performance.
• Set-up, put job specs in computer, cut mat for label, put tape on mat, punch holes in mat, put mat on vacuum cylinder, and get help if it is a large mat. Tape over all vacuum holes that the mat does not cover, in accordance with proper setup techniques.
• Set-up Label Feed Section, put labels on machine, jog labels down to square up with the mat, put glue into the machine, and check all rubber bands to see if they are straight.
• Monitor box quality, including loose liner, warp, correct size, and print. Check glue rolls for damage.
• Maximize equipment utilization by operating machinery at available capacity and speed.
• Train and assist the assistant operator and helper with job duties on the machine. Cross-train on other machines.
• Complete necessary reports accurately and timely, including production data, machine operational status, safety data, and quality data.
• Enter work requests into I-Maint. Be proactive in equipment maintenance.
• Switch duties with the assistant operator as necessary.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and good housekeeping.
• Adhere to production schedules and recommend optimizations to meet cost, quality, and service goals.
• Additional duties may be assigned by management.
• High school diploma or GED. Candidates preferred with:
• Language skills: Ability to read and follow instructions on specs.
• Mathematical skills: Ability to read a tape measure quickly and accurately, and perform calculations involving percentages, measurements, volume, and rate.
• Reasoning ability: Ability to understand and carry out instructions, solve problems with concrete variables.
• Technical skills: Knowledge of equipment design, product layouts, specifications, and quality standards.
• May be required to maintain a current Lift Truck Operator License.
• Regularly required to stand, walk, talk, hear. Frequently use hands, reach, and stoop. Occasionally sit. Must lift/move up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally. Vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth, and focus adjustment.
• Exposed to moving mechanical parts, wet/humid conditions, high places, fumes, vibration. Noise level is usually loud.
