Job summary

Mars is seeking an Operator to join our Illinois manufacturing team. The role involves operating all equipment in the assigned area to meet quality and production goals while adhering to safety standards.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma with preferred associate’s degree and experience with automated processes and TPM. Strong communication, problem solving, and teamwork are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Minimum: Grade 12 or High School diploma, or equivalent.
• Preferred: Associate's degree, or higher, in an engineering or manufacturing related discipline.
• Preferred: Two (2) or more years of experience in a food related manufacturing environment with automated processes, including PLC/HMI.
• Experience in a TPM environment.
• Physical requirements: Frequent pushing, pulling, dumping and rolling of barrels (25-105 kgs); frequent lifting/carrying; standing; etc.

Responsibilities

• Operate all equipment in the assigned work area while ensuring quality, safety and performance standards.
• Communicate effectively with team leader and peers; follow escalation protocol.
• Fill out HACCP and military sheets correctly.
• Encourage and support a safe working environment; keep manufacturing area clean and organized per 5S.
• Perform cleanouts and changeovers according to standards; participate in TPM teams.
