Job summary

Mars is seeking an Operator in Illinois. The role focuses on operating and changeovers across machinery, ensuring quality, safety and efficiency within a TPM framework. You will train others, keep paperwork accurate, and support five principles of Mars.

Responsibilities include material handling, line support, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced food manufacturing setting. Strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum: Grade 12 or High School diploma, or equivalent.
• Preferred: Associates degree, or higher, in an engineering or manufacturing related discipline.
• Preferred: Two (2) or more years of experience in a food related manufacturing environment with automated processes, including PLC/HMI.
• Experience in a TPM environment.
• Minimum: Medium: math, communications, computer, and problem-solving skills.
• Preferred: Strong: math, communication, computer, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate all equipment in the assigned work area while ensuring quality, safety and performance standards.
• Communicate effectively with team leader and peers.
• Fill out HACCP and military sheets correctly.
• Encourage and support a safe working environment.
• Keep manufacturing area clean and organized per 5S standards.
• Perform cleanouts and changeovers per work instructions and checklists.
• Participate actively in TPM teams.
