Job summary

Viking Group, Inc. in Columbus, Ohio is looking for a skilled worker to operate various machinery for pipe processing and handling. Responsibilities include operating chop saws, band saws, and grooving machines, along with adherence to safety protocols. Eligible new hires can receive a $1,000 sign-on bonus after completing 90 days of continuous employment.

The work hours are Monday to Thursday, from 3:30 PM to 2:00 AM. Ideal candidates should be comfortable using Personal Protective Equipment and handling pipes effectively.

• Forklift operation skills are beneficial.

• Operate rotary chop saw and band saw to cut pipe.
• Handle pipe movement for staging and loading.
• Use tools for threading and grooving pipe.

Job description

Eligible new hires will receive a $1,000 sign‑on bonus after completing 90 days of continuous employment.

Hours: Monday - Thursday 3:30pm - 2:00am

• Operate rotary chop saw and band saw to cut pipe to length.
• Handle movement of pipe along the length of table and off load to a cart or crate for staging in loading area.
• Operate Victaulic or Pace Grooving machine for a grooved pipe end process.
• Operate threader to apply thread to desired pipe.
• Operate Mercury or Pace Make on machine in order to apply fitting to desired pipe.
• Operate band saw in order to cut threaded rod to specified lengths.
• Install hanger devices to specified lengths of threaded rod.
• Operate bench grinder to apply required end to threaded rod for application of hanger devices.
• Push pipe carts of pipe to load area for loading purposes.
• Operate pneumatic staple gun to staple cardboard box to pallet.
• Use forklift when necessary to retrieve materials and move pipe.
• Operates pneumatic bander to ready pipe bundles for shipment when required.
• Completes training curriculum including but not limited to safety requirements while demonstrating an acceptable level of competence as defined by management.
• Uses all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as mandated for the job function.
• Follow all company policies and procedures within the guideline of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Handle additional tasks necessary to fulfill the needs of the company and the customer as deemed by the fabrication lead, fabrication manager, or branch operations manager.
