Job Summary

This position involves the operation of a vertical grinder to grind or polish glass edges. The operator tracks, locates, and records edger production on schedules provided by the Lead person. The operator communicates production demands with operators on each shift. This is a 2nd shift position, currently scheduled Sunday‑Wednesday, 4 pm—2:30 am, and Thursday 4 pm—12:30 am.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Read and understand sketches and interpret them onto glass edges.
• Read schedules and understand edger production demands.
• Operate a grinder to fabricate a quality ground or polished edge.
• Operate an overhead crane and vacuum lift.
• Perform routine maintenance on machines.
• Complete daily worksheets and forms.
• Maintain regular and predictable attendance, and safely perform tasks while adhering to all safety policies and procedures.

Skills, Knowledge, and Ability Requirements

• Basic computer familiarity.
• Read and use a tape measure.
• Perform mathematical calculations and measurements with numbers, fractions, and decimals typically acquired through high‑school education or equivalency.
