Job Description

This 2nd shift Machine Operator will work under immediate supervision, operate specific machinery and perform complex mechanical set‑ups, including setup and operation of production lines. Acting as a group leader, the operator makes minor adjustments and verifies the quality of own work.

Accountabilities

• Operates any or all of the following machines in accordance with standard work instructions: Boxers, Coders, Conveyors, Filling Machines, Wrappers, Checkweighers, Metal detectors.
• Turns on machines including boxers, coders, conveyors, wrappers, tanks, tracks, check weighers, and metal detectors.
• Verifies proper mix in tanks and ensures all correct supplies are present including cases, trays, barrels, and tubs.
• Performs setup, cleanup and operation of machines on designated lines according to the production schedule. Shuts down machines, hauls out cardboard, barrels and supplies, and places machine covers in proper places.
• Records all production performance, counts, downtime and other quality or production related information as required. Monitors for process abnormalities, taking quick action to correct.
• Monitors production process including product weight, quality, texture, volume, and taste. Completes paperwork such as weight, temperature, code and flavor sheets. Provides signature to verify compliance.
• Verifies machine safety, ensuring all safety devices are fully operational and safety procedures are observed. Performs minor troubleshooting and maintenance or repair work on equipment as needed. Assists technical operator on troubleshooting, maintenance, and preventative maintenance.
• Ensures product security through all production, packaging, and final packaging processes to safeguard against tampering, adulteration, or any other security occurrence. Reports any unusual activity to management immediately.
• Other duties as assigned.

Compensation

The base pay range for this position is $25.20 per hour, plus a night shift premium of $1.25. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and other job‑related factors permitted by law. This pay range represents the anticipated salary for this position at this time.
