Location Description

Michael Foods, Inc., located in Gaylord, Minnesota, is Minnesota's Healthy Heartland! Gaylord is located in south central Minnesota, about an hour west of the Twin Cities and 35 minutes from Mankato, Hutchinson, and New Ulm. As the County Seat, Gaylord is the "Hub of Sibley County." Our location produces liquid egg, hard-cooked egg, and pre-cooked egg products such as scrambled eggs, patties, and omelets.

Responsibilities

Starting wage: $19 per hour

Position Summary: Responsible for operating equipment to ensure only the highest quality product is produced in our Precooked department on 1st shift.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Set up and clean all equipment including oven depositors, pumps, contherms, Feldmeiers, and other equipment prior to scheduled start times to ensure on-time start-ups.
  • Perform quality checks on the product, record information on X&R bar charts, and make necessary system adjustments to meet customer and company specifications.
  • Maintain cleanliness by picking up all eggs on the floor and keeping floors, walls, and conveyors free of egg and water to control bacterial threats and safety hazards.
  • Dispose of inedible cooked/liquid egg in appropriate containers according to USDA and company guidelines.
  • Monitor spiral freezer operations, check for ice buildup, and take corrective actions to maximize quality and production run length.
  • Perform sanitation duties as required to get the system back up and running promptly.
  • Start CIP process where applicable, test chemical concentrations, monitor the process, and ensure system cleanliness.
  • Dismantle equipment, pre-rinse, scrub, inspect, and ensure cleanliness to reduce bacteria risks.
  • Collect and empty trash to maintain a bacteria-free environment.
  • Follow safe work practices, GMPs, and maintain sanitary conditions to ensure product quality and safety.
  • Report any conditions that could adversely affect food safety, quality, or safety to management.
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for Food Safety and Food Quality of MFI products.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education and Experience Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • One to three months related experience and/or training or equivalent

Preferred Skills:

  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, memos, and short correspondence.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Effective presentation skills in small group settings.
  • Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Ability to interpret bar graphs and apply common sense instructions.
