Job summary

Brady is seeking a Machine Operator for the day shift at our Glendale, WI plant. The role involves operating production equipment, following batch instructions, and maintaining quality through standard work and safety compliance.

You will weigh materials, perform setup and maintenance tasks, and contribute to Lean/5S initiatives while meeting daily production goals and supporting other areas as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• At least 1 year of manufacturing experience is preferred.
• Basic math and computer skills are required (email, MS Office, etc.).
• Ability to read and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs repeatedly and stand for the shift.
• Ability to read a micrometer within 0.0005” is required.

What We Need:

The Machine Operator will be responsible for operating equipment in the one or more value streams of the Florist operations. This position is responsible for the production of valuable, defect-free products that meet or exceed our customers' expectations. The machine operator will be successful in this position by executing to standard work and adhering to all company policies.

This position is located at our manufacturing plant at 2230 W. Florist Ave in Glendale, WI.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Weighing and mixing raw materials following batch instructions.
• Work with hazardous materials utilizing engineering controls and PPE.
• Willingness and ability to learn and contribute to Lean/5S/Continuous Improvement methodologies.
• Perform production equipment set up, clean up, safe operation, & operator level maintenance of assigned equipment .
• Identify & maintain quality standards while meeting daily & weekly production goals.
• Understand & follow established standard work documents.
• Perform adjustments to production equipment as necessary.
• Communicate production performance to appropriate leaders & departments.
• Support area goals for continuous improvement by serving on project teams as required.
• Adhere to Brady’s attendance, safety, & other company policies.
• Maintain general housekeeping & clean production areas at end of every shift.
• Provide support within other production areas as needed & other duties as assigned.

What You Will Need To Be Successful:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• 1 year experience in a manufacturing environment
• Basic math and computer skills (E-mail, MS Office, G Suite, & data entry)
• Ability to read & follow verbal & written instructions
• Flexible in schedule to work overtime as neede d
• Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. repeatedly & stand for 100% of shift
• Ability to bend, twist, crawl, climb & reach to perform job duties
• Ability to push/pull 22 lbs
• Ability to read a micrometer accurately within 0.0005”
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
