Job summary

GetHired, Inc. seeks a Machine Operator for first shift (6:00 AM–2:30 PM, Mon–Fri) to drive line productivity and meet Plant Manager goals. You will build set-ups, monitor the slit process, and ensure parts meet spec while safely moving coils.

Responsibilities include operating CNC-like equipment, entering data accurately, guiding a helper, maintaining clean work areas, and adhering to safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to measure with various tools such as calipers and tape.
• Proficient in basic math and data entry.

Responsibilities

• Build set-ups by placing spacers and knives on slitter arbors to meet specs.
• Monitor cutting process and adjust equipment for material gauge.
• Produce metal parts conforming to customer specs and quality needs.
• Enter exact specifications accurately for data entry.
• Direct Slitter Helper to stage coils efficiently.
• Inform supervisor when supplies are low and safe forklift/crane use.
• Operate forklift and overhead crane to move coils as required.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area throughout shift.
• Use precision tools (tape measures, calipers, etc.).
• Cross-train the Slitter Helper and follow safety rules.

Job description

The Machine Operator is responsible for the overall productivity of the line to meet or exceed operational goals set by the Plant Manager.

This is a first shift position with a schedule of 6:00 AM -2:30 PM Monday - Friday.

Responsibilities and Duties

As a minimum, the following is a basic description of typical duties and responsibilities expected of the Slitter Operator position. These duties are not exhaustive and are subject to change as the needs of the organization require.

• Build set-ups by placing spacers and knives onto the slitter arbors and cut metal coils to customer specifications.
• Monitor the process of metal being cut and adjust equipment accordingly for the gauge of the material.
• Produce metal products to conform to customer specifications and quality requirements.
• Enter data legibly and accurately of the exact specifications onto the appropriate forms for eventual data entry into the computer.
• Direct Slitter Helper how to stage coils to be processed for maximum efficiency.
• Inform Operations Manager when supplies to perform job duties are in low supply.
• Safely drive the forklift in the plant to move coils and skids to designated areas.
• Operate the over-head crane to move coils to the slitter from storage and/or from the slitter to next appropriate area.
• Keep immediate work area clean and organized throughout the day.
• Use precision when operating tools such as tape measures, micrometers, nibblers, and calipers.
• Cross train the Slitter Helper.
• Adhere to all RMP safety rules, regulations, and quality standards.
• Adhere to all RMP handbook policies and procedures.
