Job summary

Valor Environmental is seeking a Full-Time Machine Operator/Crew Leader for construction and landscaping projects in the Burlington, NC area. Pay rate ranges from $19.00 to $22.00 per hour plus overtime, with overtime opportunities typical throughout the year.

The role includes leading a crew of EFS specialists, installing erosion control measures, and operating company machinery while ensuring safety and quality on each site. Willingness to work outdoors in all weather and weekends is required.

Qualifications

• Previous construction or landscaping leadership experience.
• Must have a valid Driver’s License.
• Must be able to physically work outdoors in all types of weather.
• Must be able to work weekends and extended hours as needed.
• Be able to lift, pull and push materials and equipment to complete assigned job tasks. Be able to lift 50 pounds of weight frequently throughout assigned workday.

Responsibilities

• Lead a crew of Environmental Field Service (EFS) Specialists in the occurrence a Field Quality Manager (FQM) is out.
• Install and remove Silt Fence.
• Install protection to storm inlets.
• Work with heavy duty hand tools (sledge hammer/shovels, etc.).
• Install various types of erosion control measures (BMPs) as prescribed by reporting agencies.
• Watch for safety hazards on jobsite, correct employees anytime they are working in an unsafe manner.
• Operate company machinery.
• Additional duties as assigned.
