Job summary

Atkore is seeking a Machine Operator (Coiler) for the 3rd shift in New Bedford, MA to operate machinery, perform basic measurements, and complete required paperwork. The role reports to the Manufacturing Shift Supervisor and requires working Monday–Friday on a 12:00 AM–8:00 AM schedule with a $24.69/hr base pay plus a $1/hr shift differential.

Responsibilities include reading Standard Work, ensuring materials are available, operating and observing machinery, and adhering to safety procedures

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
• Previous experience in manufacturing preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs.
• Ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions in English.
• Good attendance and strong work ethic required.
• Able to work in a loud environment and follow safety procedures.

Who we are looking for:

We are currently searching for a Coiler (Machine operator) to be based out of New Bedford, MA Duchaine Facility. Reporting to the Manufacturing Shift Supervisor, the operator will be responsible for operating machinery in the areas of coiling, packing and using simple measurement instruments to check work and completing paperwork required.

What you will do:

Machine Operator’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Read and comprehend production Standard Work and Job Function Analysis (JFA)
• Ensure production materials are available.
• Operate and observe machinery during production.
• Identify acceptable or unacceptable product quality to customer requirements and quality standards.
• Collaborate with co-workers, supervisors, and managers to achieve productivity and site goals.
• Adhere to all safety procedures and report potentially unsafe conditions immediately.

What you will bring:

• High School diploma or equivalent education and experience strongly preferred but not required.
• Previous experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment is strongly preferred.
• Ability to work in an environment with loud noises, smellsand/or extreme temperatures at times.
• Basic Math skills required.
• Must have the ability to lift up to 70 lbs.
• Must be able to push, pull, bend, sit and stand without assistance.
• Good attendance and strong work ethic required.
• Must have the ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions in English.
• Ability to follow directions and complete work in a safe and efficient manner while producing a quality product.

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay for this position is $24.69/hr. Placement in the range depends on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, relevant experience, skills, seniority, performance, shift, travel requirements, and business or organizational needs and may change over time. Other compensation may include, but not limited to, overtime, shift differentials, bonuses, commissions, stock, and other incentives.
