Job summary

Haynes International is seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Associate to support multiple production lines. You will set up equipment, feed materials, and monitor quality metrics throughout processing.

This role requires operating forklifts and overhead cranes as certified, lifting up to 50 lbs, and adhering to safety standards. Candidates should have a high school diploma, US work authorization, and 1–3 years in related manufacturing roles.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Authorized to work in the US.
• One year of manufacturing experience is required.
• 1–3 years’ experience operating Slitter, Stretcher, or Cut to Length Lines.
• Able to work any shift, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.
• Lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
• Comply with all safety rules and PPE requirements.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen, physical, and background check.

Responsibilities

• Review work orders and use material handling equipment to retrieve material.
• Verify material to order and input into computer.
• Start machine and set up line for production.
• Feed material through machine with hand controls.
• Maintain production and quality standards by measuring and verifying before, during, and after processing.
• Use micrometers or calipers to check gauge width, hardness, burr, and surface condition.
• Document machine mechanical problems.
• Understand and document material defects, data entry and reconcile production.
• Adjust machine setup to correct defects as needed throughout process.
• Remove scrap and empty hopper as needed.
• Direct Material Handlers, Crane Operators and Helpers to maintain continuous production.

Physical Demands

• May be required to stand for long periods of time
• May involve some repetitive motions
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
• May also engage in frequent bending, stooping, squatting, pushing and pulling of parts and part containers
• Due to the open environment of the warehouse, must be able to work in various weather and temperature conditions to include extreme heat, humidity and cold

Requirements

• Understand and follow basic verbal and written instructions
• Possess basic mathematical skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
• Computer skills, data entry, good verbal and written communication skills
• Perform basic visual quality inspections on products
• Utilize power tools and various equipment as needed to perform duties
• Must be certified or become certified in operation of forklifts and overhead cranes
