Job summary

Carlisle Construction Materials in Acworth, Georgia, is hiring for an entry-level, 1st shift role. You will assist operators in processing materials, build pallets, and ensure quality checks. The position requires the ability to safely operate a forklift and basic communication and math skills.

The work environment is a production facility which may have fluctuating ambient temperatures and high noise levels. A high school diploma or GED is required. Training for forklift operation is provided, along with flexible overtime opportunities.

Job Summary

This position is an entry‑level, 1st shift role assisting operators engaged in processing materials.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assists operators at the coil loading and packaging ends of the line as needed.
• Builds pallets and shipping containers using hand and power tools.
• Band and palletizes metal coils and/or metal sheets, placing tags/labels on finished products.
• Performs quality checks ensuring proper lengths, widths, and weights using the proper tools.
• Detects and reports faulty operations or defective materials.
• Moves or carries parts, equipment, or materials.
• Reads and understands production orders.
• Wraps and unwraps materials.
• Maintains housekeeping of work areas.
• Operates a sit‑down forklift.
• Achieves production goals while complying with all safety requirements.
• Performs other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.

Required Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Capability to safely operate a forklift (training & certification provided).
• Ability to read documents, interpret facts, and draw conclusions.
• Basic math, reading, and writing skills.
• Good communication, organization, and time‑management skills.

Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Working Conditions

• Production facility; ambient temperature may fluctuate and noise levels may be high.
• Flexible for overtime and weekend hours when required.
• Days/Hours: Monday through Friday – 7:00 am to 3:30 pm.

Physical Requirements

• Lifting or carrying: 1–10 lbs (0‑30%), 11–20 lbs (31‑60%), 21–40 lbs (61‑100%).
• Pushing or pulling: 1–40 lbs, 41–50 lbs, 51 + lbs.
• Bending or stooping, reaching above shoulder level, driving automatic vehicle, operating machinery or power tools, climbing (ladders, stairs). Working in extreme temperatures.
• Repetitive motion involving wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
• Vision, hearing, dexterity, hand‑eye coordination.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
