Job summary

Flooring Services LTD in East Bernard, TX is seeking a Machine Operator to maintain a safe work environment, operate machines, adjust for different cabinet materials, and perform preventive maintenance and housekeeping.

You will communicate with the Supervisor and Lead, set up for optimum performance, meet hourly goals, document maintenance and production data, and uphold 5S standards.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience in a manufacturing setting.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent. Will consider work experience in lieu of education.

Job Summary

The Machine Operator is responsible for maintaining a safe work environment, sending cabinet parts, making the necessary adjustments for the different materials, and performing preventive maintenance and housekeeping.

Responsible for communicating with the Supervisor, Lead person, and Gatekeeper on daily schedules, and priorities such as rush orders, samples, remakes, etc.

Responsible for preventive maintenance action items performed daily by training authorizations. Notify the Supervisor or Lead person of machine breakdowns and continuous rejections or quality issues.

Responsible for completing the daily scheduled work and the quality of the processed parts.

Responsible for all documentation of preventive maintenance, quality control, downtime, and production quantities.

Notify the Supervisor or Lead person to order raw materials as needed.

Must be able to set up the machine for optimum performance and adjust as needed.

Responsible for leading by example regarding PPE requirements, to have punctual attendance and breaks, and to "Drive" compliance in all areas.

Perform and maintain good housekeeping practices along with the 5S standards.

Additional duties as assigned by Dept. Supervisor or Lead person.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Must be able to pull Combination, Utility and Specials Packages from P-Ticket Label

Must be able to read prints of cabinets

Must have basic ability for reading and writing, perform basic math skills and the ability to read a measuring tape.

Must be able to identify various colors.

Previous experience with basic computer skills but will train.

Must have a strong sense of urgency in accomplishing hourly goals and problem solving.

Detail oriented.

Education and Experience

2-3 years’ experience.

Must have a high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent. Will take work experience in lieu of education.

Machine experience preferred.

Physical Requirements and/or Working Conditions

Factory environment, possibly including heavy lifting, and areas where eye protection, hearing protection, and respirators are required.
