Job summary

Barnes Group is seeking a Machine Operator for Barnes Aerospace West Chester MRO to set up and operate CNC grinders, EDM or laser equipment, ensuring parts meet specifications and quality standards.

You will perform precise measurements using calipers and micrometers, document results, and collaborate with teammates to maintain productivity in a safety-sensitive environment. High attention to detail is essential.

Qualifications

• Able to use basic math to add, subtract, multiply or divide and may work with fractions, decimals or percentages.
• Able to follow simple instructions or directions.
• Able to communicate verbally and in writing as to work requirements, work in progress or work completion.
• Ability to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Set-up and operate CNC Grinder, EDM or Laser machines to ensure parts meet specifications.
• Monitor parts dimensions using jigs, fixtures, gauges, calipers, micrometers and height gauges.
• Complete paperwork documenting quality of parts produced.
• Check paperwork to determine required assembly and any special options.
• Assemble components by checking connections for correct fit and fastening sub-assemblies.
• Use precision measuring tools to verify dimensions.
• Build electrodes for Fast Hole EDM.

Barnes Aerospace West Chester MRO is seeking a Machine Operator. In this role you will set-up and operate CNC Grinder, EDM or Laser machines ensuring parts conform to specification and requirements. This position requires considerable attention to detail to produce the highest level of quality and productivity against established standards. • Primary duties are to set-up and operate CNC Grinder, EDM or Laser machines ensuring parts conform to specification and requirements.
• Monitor parts dimensions using jigs, fixtures, gages, calipers, micrometers and height gages to assure conformity of parts.
• Complete paperwork required to document the quality of parts completed.
• Checks paperwork to determine required assembly and any special options.
• Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit, fastening parts and sub-assemblies, per customer order.
• Uses precision measuring tools to check parts for correct fit and dimensions.
• Build electrodes for Fast Hole EDM

Education Requirements

• Must have two years of experience in a production/shop position
• High school diploma or equivalent
