Job summary

Fortune Brands Innovations, Inc. is hiring an experienced Machine Operator to run CNC equipment and support efficient production lines in our facility. You'll operate, set up, and possibly edit simple programs under supervision while ensuring quality and safety standards.

Internal candidates only; experience with CNC machines such as HAAS, Elumatec, mills and lathes is a plus. Strong measurement skills and basic math are essential for this role in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Must be an active Fortune Brands associate.
• Experience as a Machine Operator or trade school experience accepted in lieu of work experience.
• Candidates must be able to read a tape measure, caliper, and micrometer.
• Must be able to complete basic numerical calculations.

Responsibilities

• Operate modern computer numerical control (CNC) machines, such as notching saws, horizontal drill machines, punches, mills, lathes, HAAS, Elumatec, etc.
• Download pre-established programs, load extrusions or parts into the machine (depending on assigned work centers), and cycle the machine.
• Verify dimensions and quantities according to supplied paperwork.
• Work to meet and/or beat production quantity standards.
• Inspect extrusions/parts for quality and check for malfunctions in machine operations, such as worn or damaged cutting tools.
• Perform daily setup and preventative maintenance checks and related activities.
• Accurately and consistently verify quality control of output
• As experience is gained, you may complete basic edits to machine programs/setups.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment
• Other duties as assigned

ABOUT THE JOB

As a Machine Operator, you will operate assigned machines that have been set up and programmed by other associates. In this role, you may specialize in one specific machine or may be trained to assist with the operation of various machines.

RESPONSIBILITIES

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be an active Solar Innovations Associate
• Experience as a Machine Operator; trade school experience will be accepted in lieu of work experience
• Candidates must be able to read a tape measure, caliper, and micrometer
• Must be able to complete basic numerical calculations

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience reading machine drawings
• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
• Experience as a CNC Machine Operator, preferably in a machine shop or job shop environment
