Job summary

Fortune Brands Innovations, Inc. is seeking a Machine Operator to operate CNC machines and support production. Internal Solar Innovations Associates are preferred. You will load materials, verify dimensions, and maintain quality while meeting production goals in a modern manufacturing setting.

You may progress to editing programs as you gain experience, with daily setup and maintenance tasks supporting a clean, safe work environment.

Qualifications

• Must be an active Solar Innovations Associate
• Experience as a Machine Operator; trade school experience accepted in lieu of work experience
• Candidates must be able to read a tape measure, caliper, and micrometer
• Must be able to complete basic numerical calculations

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC machines (notching saws, drills, mills, lathes, HAAS, Elumatec)
• Download programs, load extrusions/parts, and cycle machines
• Verify dimensions and quantities per paperwork
• Meet or beat production quantity standards
• Inspect extrusions/parts for quality and tool wear
• Perform daily setup and preventive maintenance checks
• Verify quality control of output
• May edit machine programs/setups as experience grows
• Maintain a clean and safe environment
• Other duties as assigned

Job description

As a Machine Operator, you will operate assigned machines that have been set up and programmed by other associates. In this role, you may specialize in one specific machine or may be trained to assist with the operation of various machines.

Responsibilities

• Operate modern computer numerical control (CNC) machines, such as notching saws, horizontal drill machines, punches, mills, lathes, HAAS, Elumatec, etc.
• Download pre-established programs, load extrusions or parts into the machine (depending on assigned work centers), and cycle the machine.
• Verify dimensions and quantities according to supplied paperwork.
• Work to meet and/or beat production quantity standards.
• Inspect extrusions/parts for quality and check for malfunctions in machine operations, such as worn or damaged cutting tools.
• Perform daily setup and preventative maintenance checks and related activities.
• Accurately and consistently verify quality control of output
• As experience is gained, you may complete basic edits to machine programs/setups.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
