Job description

Position: Machine Operator/Assembler/Production Associate Pay: Starting pay $20.37/hr. Increase after 90 days to $21.04/hr. Shift differential: 2nd shift: $1.15/hr 3rd shift: $1.50/hr Shifts: 2nd and 3rd shift
  • 2nd shift – Monday to Friday 2:00pm - 10:30pm
  • 3rd shift -- Sunday night to Friday morning. 10:00pm - 6:30am.

Overtime: As needed base off production demand

Training: First shift or assigned shift

Our Winston-Salem, North Carolina assembly plant manufactures batteries used in automotive and marine applications. We opened our facility in 1978 and now employ more than 500 people and operate six days per week. We are actively involved in our local community and give back through food drives for Second Harvest Food Bank and toy drives for Brenner Children’s Hospital.

What you will do:

In this position you will operate automated and semi-automated production machines to manufacture automotive batteries. In addition, operators make minor adjustments during troubleshooting, recognize and diagnose machine problems, and participate in operator preventative maintenance of equipment such as cleaning, greasing, and replacing small parts. Perform visual inspection of machines for quality or productivity problems. Perform required quality checks as trained.

How You Will Do It:

  • Adhere to all safety standards including the wearing of Personal Protective Equipment (safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, respirator).
  • Learn how to perform all functions on assigned production machines, including controlling and adjusting machine settings, feed raw materials or parts to semi-automated machines.
  • Verify product meets quality standards and keep records of approved and defective units.
  • Clean equipment, tools, etc. and surrounding area between jobs to maintain a clean and orderly work area.
  • Grease and oil machines and perform minor repairs.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on machines.
  • Prepare daily production, maintain records of production and time reports.

  • 1 + year(s) of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work in a hot environment.
  • Ability to physically bend, twist and kneel in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Basic math, reading and writing skills.
  • Availability to work overtime and weekends as needed.
  • Ability to come in early or stay late depending on production demands.
  • Must be able to wear required PPE
