Job summary

Mill Rock Packaging Inc. is seeking Machine Operators to join a fast‑paced manufacturing team. The role offers diverse operator levels—from entry to senior—across finishing and press operations, with clear pathways for growth and advancement.

You will support setups, line changeovers, material preparation, and packing, while helping to maintain quality and efficiency on the production floor. Training is provided and schedules vary by shift, with a night differential on late shifts.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.

  • Positive, can‑do attitude with a willingness to learn and contribute in a team.
  • Mechanically inclined with interest in learning how machines work.
  • Ability to read and follow job tickets, schedules, and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Support safety‑first, team‑oriented culture on the production floor.
  • Assist with machine setups and changeovers to keep production moving.
  • Prepare materials and pack finished products for shipment.
  • Ensure product quality and adherence to procedures.
  • Work with operations to meet production goals.

Be part of the team that keeps our fast‑paced production floor running safely, efficiently, and on target! As a Machine Operator, you’ll play an important role in getting quality products out the door by:

  • Supporting our safety‑first team‑oriented culture

Choose the shift that works for you. Shift preferences can be selected during the application process.

Night Shift Differential: Earn an additional $1.50/hour on 2nd and 3rd shifts!

6am-6pm; 3 consecutive days per week; rotates quarterly

6pm-6am; 3 consecutive days; some with quarterly rotation

2:30pm-12:30am; Monday-Thursday

What does it take to be successful in this role?
Basic Requirements
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Safety‑first mindset with the ability to follow safety standards.
  • Positive, “can do” attitude with a willingness to learn, accept feedback, and contribute in a team environment.
  • Mechanical aptitude, problem‑solving skills, or interest in learning how machines and production equipment work.
  • Basic computer skills or ability to learn production systems.
  • Ability to read and follow job tickets, schedules, work instructions, specifications, quality standards and basic production information.
  • Experience in manufacturing, production, warehouse, machine operation, trades, or another hands‑on physical work environment.
Preferred Requirements
  • Experience in print, packaging, folding carton, paperboard, die cutting, folder‑gluer, press, finishing, bindery, or related production.
  • Experience with measuring devices, material handling equipment, quality inspection, troubleshooting, changeovers, setup, or maintenance support.

The Physical Requirements And Work Environment
Physical Demands
  • Standing/Walking: Stand and walk for extended periods, 8–12 hours per shift, including occasional stairs.
  • Lifting/Carrying: Regularly lift, push, pull, and move materials up to 50 lbs.
  • Repetitive Motions: Frequent use of hands and arms for machine operation, material handling, packing, and quality checks.
  • Visual/Manual Requirements: Read gauges, measure materials, read color, inspect product quality, and identify defects.
Environmental Conditions
  • Noise Level: Moderate to high noise levels; hearing protection provided.
  • Environment: Manufacturing setting with moving equipment in a temperature controlled environment.
  • Safety Gear: PPE such as safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and other required equipment may be required.
  • Other Factors: Occasional exposure to dust, ink, coatings, chemicals, or other production materials.
