Job summary

Fenner Precision Polymers is seeking an assembler in Lancaster, PA to perform a range of manufacturing tasks. You will read orders to determine belt specifications, calculate spec cards, and operate/monitor machines to ensure quality, including wire bends, caliper readings, and routine maintenance.

The role requires attention to detail, ability to use measurement tools, and adherence to safety and quality standards in a fast-paced production environment.

Responsibilities

• Assemble parts and products as directed
• Use computers to close out and reprint manufacturing orders
• Read manufacturing orders to determine belt specifications
• Calculate specification cards
• Perform wire bend tests on machines as scheduled
• Read and use calipers and tape measures
• Set up machines including controller length, payoff speed, cutter, benders, dump tray, and Z-center according to belt number
• Operate and monitor machines to detect workpiece defects or machine malfunctions
• Measure wire dimensions to verify machine accuracy
• Monitor quality by checking twists, bow, curve, edges, length, spans, belt tightness, sponge, pitch, and parallel
• Perform basic machine maintenance such as lubrication and replacing worn parts
• Move finished stacks to designated area

Performs wire bend test correctly and at designated time for each machine.

Able to read and use calipers and tape measures.

All aspects of machine set up including the following: Controller length, payoff speed, cutter, benders, dump tray, Z-center according to belt number.

Operates and observes machine to detect work pieces defects or machine malfunction.

Measures wire dimensions to determine accuracy of machine operations.

Monitor quality, checking twists, bow, curve, edges, length, number of spans, belt tightness, sponge, pitch, and parallel.

Performs minor machine maintenance such as lubrication of moving parts, cleaning or replacing broken components.

Moves finished stacks to designated area.
