STS Packaging, a Schwarz Partners, L.P. affiliate company, is currently seeking a Machine Operator (3rd Shift) in Charlotte, NC. The Machine Operator is responsible for tending to machines that automatically measure, fold, cut, glue, and bundle printed roll stock into finished bags, while adhering to company safety standards.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

1. Follow all safety and company policies, reporting any issues, accidents, or incidents immediately.
2. Establish, maintain, and prepare the machine: keep printed roll stock staged, threaded, and spliced into the machine.
3. Check the quality of bags to ensure uniform registration, folding, gluing, and sealing.
4. Make minor machine adjustments and assist with major adjustments as needed to ensure quality and efficiency.
5. Keep the machine running by loading new rolls and starting the machine.
6. Maintain cleanliness of the machine and work area.
7. Load kraft bundle wrap paper and clear jams as needed.
8. Accurately fill out daily shift paperwork.
9. Maintain regular and predictable attendance.

Skills and Requirements

• Must follow Safety/GMP/PPE guidelines.
• Ability to work 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday, including overtime and weekends.

• Ability to take direction from the Shift Supervisor.
• Basic mechanical knowledge.

Physical Ability Requirements

• Continuous standing and walking, with minimal sitting.
• Able to bend, twist, kneel, crawl, and lie down during cleanup and startup, involving frequent motions.
• Frequent lifting and carrying of bundles weighing over 35 lbs.
• Frequent pushing and pulling of paper rolls exceeding 1,500 lbs.
• Frequent ladder and stair climbing.
