Job summary

NSK is seeking a CNC machinist in Indiana. The role requires hands-on experience with lathes and milling machines, reading blueprints, and setting up tooling to produce parts within tolerances.

You will operate and monitor machines, adjust controls, measure with calipers and micrometers, and inspect parts exiting the machine. A strong work history and reliability are essential for success in this shop environment.

Qualifications

• CNC experience of a couple of years is required.
• Ability to translate into machine set-up and adjust control.
• Read and interpret blueprint drawings and specs.
• Inspect parts exiting the machine for tolerances.
• Set up and operate CNC machines and tooling.
• Fabricate parts to blueprint specifications.
• Maintain clean work area and tooling.
• EOE notice.

Responsibilities

• Operate machine tools such as lathes and milling machines.
• Set up and operate assigned equipment to machine component parts.
• Set up tooling and fixtures for machines.
• Read and interpret machine parts drawings/specifications.
• Adjust machine settings to maximize machining capabilities.

• Have potential to advance into machinist position
• Have experience with caliper, micrometers, off-sets, touch-offs, height gauge, depth and ID micrometer, slant gauges
• Excellent work history

• Operate machine tools such as lathes, milling machines
• Set up, machine tools
• Set up and operate another machine tool during machining cycles
• Set or reset machine to required machining sequence to machine parts in tolerance
• Clean machine, tooling, and parts
• Set up and operate assigned equipment necessary to machine component parts
• Inspect parts as they exit the machine
• Read and interpret machine parts drawing specifications
• Operating equipment and machine tools
• Adjust machine settings to machine parts according to specifications and to maximize machining capabilities
• Start machine and observe cutting operations
• Sharpen tools and set up tooling
• Fabricate parts to specifications on blueprint
• Set up and operate computer numerical control machines by programming control instructions into machine control units
• Select appropriate set up tooling and fixtures for machines
• Determine accuracy of machine operations
• Set up and operate another machine tool during tape controlled machining cycles
