Job summary

NSK in Indiana is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to operate and set up lathes and milling machines, read blueprints, and ensure parts meet tight tolerances. You will use calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other inspection tools, adjust controls, and participate in setup and programming for tape or NC cycles.

Ideal candidates have several years of CNC experience, strong measuring skills, and the ability to read drawings and interpret tolerances to deliver high-quality machined

Qualifications

• CNC experience for at least a couple of years.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret specifications.
• Experience with calipers, micrometers, offsets, and touch-offs.
• Familiarity with height gauges and depth micrometers.
• Capable of setting up and operating machine tools.

Responsibilities

• Move machine controls and adjust settings to meet specifications.
• Operate lathes and milling machines to produce parts.
• Set up, machine, and run tooling for machining cycles.
• Inspect parts exiting the machine for conformance to drawings.
• Read and interpret machine part drawings and tolerances.
• Prepare equipment and fixtures for setups and runs.
• Sharpen tools and maintain tooling for accuracy.
• Produce parts within required tolerances.

Job description

• CNC experienced for at least a couple of years
• Have potential to advance into machinist position
• Have experience with caliper, micrometers, off-sets, touch-offs, height gauge, depth and ID micrometer, slant gauges
• Move machine control to adjust machine
• Operate machine tools such as lathes, milling machines
• Set up, machine tools
• Set up and operate another machine tool during machining cycles
• Set or reset machine to required machining sequence to machine parts in tolerance
• Clean machine, tooling, and parts
• Set up and operate assigned equipment necessary to machine component parts
• Inspect parts as they exit the machine
• Read and interpret machine parts drawing specifications
• Operating equipment and machine tools
• Adjust machine settings to machine parts according to specifications and to maximize machining capabilities
• Start machine and observe cutting operations
• Sharpen tools and set up tooling
• Fabricate parts to specifications on blueprint
• Set up and operate computer numerical control machines by programming control instructions into machine control units
