Job Description
The Machine Operator is responsible for the overall quality and efficiency of the machine and is indirectly responsible for leading machine crews. The primary goal is to ensure the safe operation of a coffee packaging machine. This position reports to the Plant Manager.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Operate production equipment safely and efficiently to meet production/waste goals.
- Complete all required documents and checklists related to equipment operation, report malfunctions.
- Interpret work orders and instructions to follow proper materials and specifications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve basic-to-moderate operation issues.
- Ensure coffee has had adequate time to gas-off.
- Complete change-over sheets, notify support staff, and request necessary materials.
- Use computer systems to manage coffee bins and print labels.
- Program packaging machines based on specifications.
- Adjust equipment for case size and coffee amount without stopping production.
- Manage packaging, including closing boxes, labeling, and taping.
- Perform visual, weight, and seal inspections on packages.
- Identify and segregate nonconforming goods.
- Handle boxes, stack on pallets, and complete pallet tickets.
- Record downtime and submit maintenance requests as needed.
- Clean machines and work areas to prevent dust accumulation.
- Check packaging machines and perform changeovers to ensure correctness.
- Collect and submit samples for quality assurance.
- Follow safety protocols, wear PPE, and keep work areas organized.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Starting Pay Rate: $22.01 per hour
