Job summary

Timken Aerospace in Keene, NH is seeking candidates for a full-time 2nd shift position. The role involves precision setup work on specified machines, with a schedule of Monday-Thursday 3:00pm-1:00am and overtime on Fridays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and perform precision internal/external setups.
• Maintain setup proficiency in at least one operation group.
• Work from drawings, process sheets and setup charts.
• Select tooling and set up grinding wheels as needed.
• Cycle machines to produce test pieces and adjust as necessary.
• Inspect components to ensure the parts meet quality specifications.
• Use gauging techniques and verify calibration of gages.
• Visually inspect finish and surface quality of parts.
• Instruct and mentor assigned operators as applicable.
• Schedule work to meet due dates and maintain efficiency.
• Follow preventive maintenance and safety procedures.
• Ensure Statistical Process Control compliance and uphold quality standards.
• Report operational issues and keep the work area clean and organized.
• Maintain and comply with process documentation.

Purpose/Responsibilities

• Plan and perform a wide range of precision internal/external setups.
• Maintain a setup proficiency in a minimum of one operation group on a specific set of machine(s) applicable to your functional area.
• Work from part drawings, process sequence sheets and setup charts.
• Select proper tooling, mount, dress and/or true grinding wheels where appropriate.
• Cycle machine to produce test pieces, check parts and make machine adjustments as necessary.
• Inspect components to ensure proper adherence to quality specifications.
• Gage components using applicable gaging techniques and procedures, check gages for proper calibration using gage masters and adjust as necessary.
• Visually sample pieces for finish and surface quality.
• Instruct and lend technical assistance to and maintain a reasonable responsibility for work of each assigned operator if applicable.
• Schedule work to due dates while maintaining an operational effective efficiency.
• Maintain and comply with preventive maintenance schedule, impose, and comply with safety and hazardous material handling procedures.
• Operationally ensure the compliance and effectiveness of Statistical Process Control, maintain an operational quality standard.
• Report all operating difficulties to the appropriate supervisor; maintain work area in a clean and orderly condition.
• Maintain and comply with process documentation.

Technical/Functional Skills

Basic Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or Equivalent
