Job summary

TreeHouse Foods is seeking a Machine Operator for the 2nd shift at our Hanover, PA location. You will report to the Packing Room Supervisor and support the production line by running packing room machinery and ensuring product quality.

Day-to-day tasks include watching line speeds, managing changeovers, and conducting weight checks. Requires ability to work overtime and weekends and to operate in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience following instructions/process documents.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred, especially in food manufacturing.
• Ability to work overtime and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Operate packing room machines to meet production standards and speeds.
• Study production sheets to anticipate changeovers and assign products to machines.
• Complete weight checks and inspect products for defects to maintain quality.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.

Job Description

The Machine Operator role at the Hanover location reports to the Packing Room Supervisor and takes day-to-day direction from the Lead Machine Operator. You’ll add value to this role by performing various functions including, but not limited to:

• Ensures that production standards are met by: operating all packing room machines at specified efficiency (speed). Packing room machines include: Hayssens, box machines, box tapers, stretch wrapper, diverter gates, case labelers and sonic sensors.
• Determines upcoming production needs by studying production sheet to anticipate changeovers and assigned products to machines. Uses this information to have correct film, co-dates, stickers, hot stamps, etc. ready for next order.
• Maintains specifications by observing operations, detecting malfunctions and inspecting product for pleats, leakers, holes, registration, and code-dates to keep within specified bag waste limits.
• Ensures product specifications by completing weight checks on packing lines.
• Other duties as assigned.

Important Details

This is a full-time permanent role on 2nd Shift which operates from 3:00p to 11:00p Monday through Friday, Overtime on Saturday as needed. $26.00 /hr. Including shift differential pay.

• Demonstrated experience following instructions/process documents and providing effective communication, both verbal and written
• Experience in a manufacturing environment – food manufacturing a plus
• The ability to work overtime and weekends.
