Job summary

The Aebi Schmidt Group is seeking a Machine Operator for the 2nd shift in Bristol, IN. You will set up and operate sheet metal fabricating machines, reading blueprints and specifications to cut, bend, and form parts.

This role requires strong attention to detail, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and the capacity to work in a fast-paced environment. Forklift operations and ERP/MRP knowledge are a plus.

Qualifications

  • Ability to read a blueprint or be trained to read a blueprint.
  • Math skills including converting fractions to decimals.
  • Problem solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Capable of lifting 50 pounds and sliding 100 pounds without assistance.
  • Team player who can work independently and multitask.

Responsibilities

  • Setup and operate sheet metal fabricating machines to cut, bend, and form per blueprints.
  • Follow standardized work and safe practices in a fast-paced environment.
  • Operate and monitor multiple machines to ensure quality production and minimal downtime.
  • Maintain inventory records and perform cycle counts with ERP/MRP systems and scanners.
  • Transport materials using pallet jack, forklift or related equipment as needed.

Machine Operator - 2nd Shift | Bristol, IN (Main)

Regular Employee | Hourly Non-Exempt | $25.00 - 25.00

What you’ll do:

Setup and operate sheet metal fabricating machines, such as press brakes, shears, turret punch presses, saws, and presses, to cut, bend, and form sheet metal according to blueprints and specifications.

JOBRESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-speed environment, follow standardized work and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement environment
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus
  • Perform necessary pre-operation activities to ensure proper equipment startup and operation on multiple pieces of equipment
  • Operate/monitor multiple pieces of equipment during operation to ensure quality production and minimal unplanned stops
  • Communicate with team members and support teams to ensure continuous production of the correct product at high quality levels with minimal wasted time and materials
  • Perform the above within acceptable quality, quantity, performance, and safety standards
  • Maintain valid forklift/stand-up license— including completion of daily forklift maintenance log and proper maintenance of equipment
  • Working knowledge of ERP/MRP and bar code scanners systems
  • Responsible for maintaining inventory record accuracy through accurate stock transfers and cycle counts
  • Transports materials to designated areas utilizing appropriate tools/vehicles to accomplish task including but not limited to pallet jack, forklift, stand-up and/or pac mule
