Job summary

Parker Aerospace, Exotic Metals Forming Division, is seeking a Machine Operator 1 in Washington. The role involves setting up and operating industrial machines to form, cut, bend, and finish aerospace components from nickel, stainless, and titanium alloys.

You will work in a team to meet daily production goals, follow drawings and use precision instruments to ensure parts meet specifications. The position includes standard benefits and a competitive pay range.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Meet daily production goals using engine lathes, milling machines, punch press, forming press, shear, press brake, expander and similar equipment.
  • Ensure proper setup of machines to produce parts within tolerances.
  • Follow written instructions, sketches and drawings.
  • Use precision measuring instruments to check tolerances and quality of parts.
  • Adhere to established safety standards and procedures.
  • Document manufacturing planning and timecard data in the system.
  • Work under direct supervision.

Machine Operator 1

Shift: M- TH 3:15pm - 1:45am

Uses established processes to set up, program, and operate various types of industrial grade machines to form, cut, bend, size, and/or machine aerospace quality components from Nickel, Stainless, and Titanium alloys.

Functions And Responsibilities
  • Works in a team environment to meet daily production goals using engine lathes, milling machines, punch press, forming press, shear, press brake, expander and/or other machinery to produce high quality details to flow into the assembly value streams.
  • Operators ensure proper setup of machines to yield quality parts conforming to our customers designed tolerances.
  • Understand and follow written instructions, sketches, drawings, and documents.
  • Use precision measuring instruments to check tolerances and quality of parts.
  • Perform all work in accordance with established standards and safety procedures.
  • Responsible for ensuring proper documentation is entered on manufacturing planning and paperless timecard system.
  • Work under direct oversight.
Skills, Education And Required Experience
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing planning and sketches.
  • Knows when to stop and ask for clarification.
  • Understand proper setup and use of tooling associated with machines.
  • Requires familiarity with machine tools, precision instruments and good manual dexterity.
  • Required to perform shop mathematics associated with machining operations.
  • May have a demonstrated expertise in a particular machine type, or work on one single purpose machine.
  • And any other duties assigned to help drive to our vision, fulfill our commitments, and carry out our organization’s virtues.
Working Conditions
  • Demonstrate proper and safe operation of equipment, and personal protective equipment including, but not limited to, safety glasses/full face shield, hearing protection, heat reflective body garments and gloves as required.
Physical Requirements
  • The machine operator performs physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and frequent movement of the whole body, such as climbing, lifting up to 50 pounds, balancing and handling of material.
Conditions of Employment

This position is subject to meeting U.S. export compliance and/or U.S. Government contracting citizenship eligibility requirements.

Competitive Compensation

  • Pay Range: $20/hr to $31.6/hr
  • Participation in Annual Incentive Program
