Job summary

Parker Aerospace’s Exotic Metals Forming Division is seeking an Experienced Machine Operator for the Weekend Shift (Friday-Saturday, 5:00am–5:30pm). You will set up, program, and operate industrial machines to form and machine components from Nickel, Stainless, and Titanium alloys, following established processes.

You must read drawings, measure with precision tools, and document work according to manufacturing plans.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Familiarity with machine tools and precision instruments.
• Ability to read sketches and drawings and follow instructions.
• Good manual dexterity and basic math skills.

Responsibilities

• Set up, program and operate machines to form, cut, bend, size aerospace components.
• Follow written instructions, sketches and drawings.
• Use precision measuring instruments to verify tolerances and quality of parts.
• Work in accordance with safety standards and procedures.
• Document all work in the manufacturing planning system and timecard.

Experienced Machine Operator

Weekend Shift: Friday-Saturday 5:00am – 5:30pm

Uses established processes to set up, program, and operate various types of industrial grade machines to form, cut, bend, size, and/or machine aerospace quality components from Nickel, Stainless, and Titanium alloys.

Functions and Responsibilities

• Operators ensure proper setup of machines to yield quality parts conforming to our customers’ designed tolerances.
• Understand and follow written instructions, sketches, drawings, and documents.
• Use precision measuring instruments to check tolerances and quality of parts.
• Perform all work in accordance with established standards and safety procedures.
• Responsible for ensuring proper documentation is entered into manufacturing planning and paperless timecard system.
• Work under direct oversight.

Skills, Education and Required Experience

• Basic understanding of manufacturing planning and sketches.
• Know when to stop and ask for clarification.
• Understand proper setup and use of tooling associated with machines.
• Requires familiarity with machine tools, precision instruments and good manual dexterity.
• Required to perform shop mathematics associated with machining operations.
• High School diploma or equivalent GED required.

Working Conditions

Demonstrate proper and safe operation of equipment, and personal protective equipment including, but not limited to, safety glasses/full face shield, hearing protection, heat reflective body garments and gloves as required.

Physical Requirements

The machine operator performs physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and frequent movement of the whole body, such as climbing, lifting up to 50 pounds, balancing and handling of material.

Pay, Benefits, Work Schedule

Competitive Compensation

• Pay Range: $23.5/hr to $37.1/hr
• Participation in Annual Incentive Program
