Job summary

Parker Hannifin Corp in Washington state is seeking a Machine Operator 1 to set up, program and operate various types of industrial grade machines to form, cut, bend, size, and/or machine aerospace quality components from Nickel, Stainless, and Titanium alloys.

The role requires reading drawings, using precision instruments, and maintaining quality to meet customer tolerances. You will work with a team in a safe environment and participate in our continuous improvement culture.

Qualifications

  • Basic understanding of manufacturing planning and sketches.
  • Knows when to stop and ask for clarification.
  • Understand proper setup and use of tooling associated with machines.
  • Requires familiarity with machine tools, precision instruments and good manual dexterity.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and set up engine lathes, milling machines, punch press, forming press, shear, press brake, expander, and other machinery to produce aerospace components.
  • Ensure machines are properly set up to yield parts within tolerances.
  • Follow written instructions, drawings and documents.
  • Use precision measuring instruments to check tolerances and quality.
  • Follow established standards and safety procedures.
  • Maintain manufacturing planning and paperless timecard documentation.
  • Work under direct oversight.

Machine Operator 1

Shift: M- TH 3:15pm - 1:45am

Uses established processes to set up, program, and operate various types of industrial grade machines to form, cut, bend, size, and/or machine aerospace quality components from Nickel, Stainless, and Titanium alloys.

Functions and Responsibilities
  • Works in a team environment to meet daily production goals using engine lathes, milling machines, punch press, forming press, shear, press brake,expanderand/or other machinery to produce high quality details to flow into the assembly value streams.
  • Operators ensure proper setup of machines to yield quality parts conforming to our customers designed tolerances.
  • Understandand follow written instructions, sketches, drawings, and documents.
  • Use precision measuring instruments to check tolerances and quality of parts.
  • Perform all workin accordance withestablished standards and safety procedures.
  • Responsible for ensuring proper documentation is entered on manufacturing planning and paperless timecard system.
  • Work under direct oversight.
Skills, Education and Required Experience
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing planning and sketches.
  • Knows when to stop and ask for clarification.
  • Understand proper setup and use of tooling associated with machines.
  • Requires familiarity with machine tools, precisioninstrumentsand good manual dexterity.
  • Required to perform shop mathematics associated with machining operations.
  • May have a demonstratedexpertisein a particular machine type, or work on one single purpose machine.
  • And any other duties assigned to help drive to our vision, fulfill our commitments, and carry out our organization’s virtues.
Working Conditions
  • Demonstrate proper and safe operation of equipment, and personal protective equipment including, but not limited to, safety glasses/full face shield, hearing protection, heat reflective body garments and gloves as required.
Physical Requirements
  • The machine operator performs physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and frequent movement of the whole body, such as climbing, lifting up to 50 pounds, balancing and handling of material.
Conditions of Employment

This position is subject to meeting U.S. export compliance and/or U.S. Government contracting citizenship eligibility requirements.

Pay, Benefits, Work Schedule
Competitive Compensation
  • Pay Range: $20/hr to $31.6/hr
  • Participation in Annual Incentive Program
