Job summary

Caterpillar is seeking a Machine Operator for 2nd/3rd shifts in Pontiac, IL. You will operate vertical, horizontal, and multi-axis lathes, read blueprints, and follow standard work instructions to produce engine components.

Starting pay is $26.66 per hour with a $1.00 night shift premium and a sign-on bonus up to $2000. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, plus a 401(k), PTO and wellness programs. Training on 1st shift hours is provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 12 months experience in manufacturing, engine maintenance, or machining.
• Ability to follow written instructions (schematics, standard work, blueprints).

Responsibilities

• Manually operate vertical, horizontal, and multi-axis turret lathes.
• Adjust single spindle automatic cutoff machines.
• Advanced blueprint reading and geometric tolerances.
• Apply safe working methods and follow written/verbal instructions.
• Maintain 5S and TPM practices in daily work.
• Communicate clearly and support team collaboration.
